How is basketball recruiting going? Is UM going to have a decent team 2010-2011? I only ask because I see MSU has recently pulled in many nationally ranked recruits for the next couple years.

Sad to hear Manny is going to hire an agent.  He's not ready for the NBA.  I didn't see the news conferance, but read the article and it seemed Belein was doing everything but say this was a mistake for Manny.  However, call me crazy (and feel free to drag this back up next March), but I think we will actually be a better team next year without Sims and Harris.  We will have to be a balanced attack; we will have to find ways to score within the offense.  All of our roll players have another year of experience, and I like the recruits that are coming in next year.  Hopefully, we can just find a way to make a shot from the outside.  I am still a believer in Belein, he will get this program back on the track it was on before last season's debacle.

If you want to make it in the NCAA tournament you have to win big games on the road. I don't know why Manny Harris did not play against Wisconsin but they are going to need players to come up big Zack Novak, Stu Douglass, Laval Lucas-Perry if you guys are getting most of the minutes then you need to start producing. If not Bielein needs to start looking at bench players like Zack Gibson or Matt Vogrich or even Anthony Wright. Gibson is 6-10 and is only getting 3 points and 2 rebounds a game that is unacceptable for a senior. He should be on the verge of a double - double every night with at leat a couple of blocks. This freshman class Jordan Morgan, Blake McLimans, Daruis Morris need to start showing that they were neant to be D-1 basketball players. The shooting on this team for a coach that offense is predicated for big men shooting from beyond the arc is horrendous. Noone on the team is shooting over 37% that just will not cut it as a team or a player. Everyone of these players should be shooting at least 300 shots a day. At least that is how it was when I played college ball. A coach can only help you but so much with the time that he is given to help you. What is your commitment to the game how much do you love it? How bad do you want to get better? We had a simple saying at Detroit Mercy and that was no matter how much you practice there was always someting working harder that you. So we all challenged each other on getting to the gym first being the last to leave watching film discussing film without the coaches so that we could all be on the same page. We won the Horizon 3 out of my four years. If losing does not turn your stomach or make your heartache then you need to change because you are playing the wrong game!
